Lexus Makes Few Changes to RX, UX for 2022

Lexus has won Kelley Blue Book’s Most Trusted Luxury Brand Award every year since 2016. The company knows how to build an impregnable reputation, and how to keep it. So, we probably shouldn’t be surprised when Lexus stays the course.

With two core models of its 2022 crossover lineup, Lexus is staying the course.

RX Gets One New Option

The 2021 Lexus RX won customer loyalty with a refined ride, strong resale value, and a new Black Line Edition with darker accents for those seeking a different look.

The 2022 Lexus RX will be the same, but available with standalone fog lamps. That’s the list of notable updates for the new model year.

Prices will go up, but not noticeably. The entry-level RX 350 starts at $45,320 for 2022 – a $100 increase from 2021. The 450h hybrid model likewise gets a $100 price increase, to $48,020. All Lexus vehicles also require a $1,075 delivery charge.

UX Gains One Small Feature

The 2021 Lexus UX is the least expensive Lexus. A perfectly competent small crossover with a supremely quiet ride, it’s also available with a hybrid drivetrain. And it’s the least costly way to get the Lexus ownership experience, characterized by solicitous dealerships and happy owners.

The 2022 Lexus UX will be largely the same. About the biggest news is a newly developed power-operated tilt and telescoping steering column on Luxury trim models that can automatically adjust out of the way when the driver enters or exits the vehicle.

Aside from new color combinations, that’s about it.

The UX received a rather substantial facelift for the 2021 model year, which added an extensive list of automated safety features and tightened up the throttle response. For 2022, the company has made nearly no other changes, apart from that steering wheel.

Pricing stays relatively steady as well. The point of entry for the UX lineup remains the same, at $33,000.The hybrid UX 250h variant, likewise, keeps its price the same for 2022, coming in at $35,200. Top-of-the-line Luxury trims of both vehicles will see a $340 price bump.
