Let’s Take a Look Inside the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is a new electric-powered SUV with seating for five and upwards of 500 horsepower in its most powerful form. While it borrows the Blazer name from Chevrolet’s gas-powered midsize SUV, the Blazer EV rides on the Ultium vehicle platform. This EV architecture is shared with the Cadillac Lyriq, GMC Hummer EV, and upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup truck.

This also marks the first time Chevrolet is using its performance-oriented SS (Super Sport) moniker on an electric vehicle. The SS badge is most commonly associated with Chevy muscle cars, such as the current (but soon-to-be discontinued) Camaro coupe and convertible.

When it goes on sale later this year, the Chevy Blazer EV will be offered as an LT and an RS. The sporty range-topping SS model is slated to arrive a bit later, in the spring of 2024.

In standard LT trim, the Blazer EV with all-wheel drive has an estimated driving range of 279 miles. The midlevel RS trim comes with rear- or all-wheel drive, the RWD model offering 320 miles of range. The sporty Blazer EV SS is expected to have around 294 miles of range and hit 60 mph in less than four seconds.

Let’s take a look inside the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV.

Passenger Room and Comfort

The Blazer EV delivers plenty of space for adults seated in either the first or second row. With 41 inches of front legroom and 39.6 inches in back, the Blazer EV — like its gas-powered counterpart — has one of the roomier cabins found among 2-row midsize SUVs. This holds true when compared to similarly sized electric competitors, too.

For example, the Tesla Model Y has 40.5 inches of rear legroom, while the Ford Mustang Mach-E measures 38.1 inches. An 8-way power driver seat and 6-way power front passenger seat are optional on the Blazer EV’s entry-level LT and standard on the RS. The RS also comes with contrasting red or blue interior stitching.

Heated and ventilated front seats are standard on the RS and SS. The SS also comes with heated rear seats, which are optional on the RS. To give the SS a little extra visual kick, Chevy has fitted it with microfiber suede upholstery with available Adrenaline Red seating surfaces or black and gray with Argon Orange accents.

Features and Tech

Every 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is equipped with an 11-inch digital gauge display positioned alongside an expansive 17.7-inch touchscreen. Chevrolet kindly located an audio volume control knob at the upper left corner of the infotainment screen, within easy reach of the driver. A 6-speaker audio system is standard.

Popular tech features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with remote start, which can be done via a smartphone app. There are five USB ports in total: two positioned ahead of the front cupholders, one in the center console storage bin, and two at the back of the center console for rear passengers.

The Blazer EV LT comes with single-zone climate control, whereas the RS and SS feature dual-zone systems. Controls for the fan and temperature are positioned on the dashboard, below the infotainment screen.

Materials and Design

The Blazer EV isn’t bashful inside or out, with an interior that’s more than a match for the sporty bravado of the exterior. An optional flat-bottom steering wheel is available on the RS and SS. Another clever touch? Circular air vents that mimic the look of jet engines.

With plenty of soft-touch interior trim, the 2024 Blazer EV has an upscale look and feel to its cabin. Ambient lighting and available 2-tone interiors (RS and SS) further add to the Blazer EV’s unique SUV-meets-muscle-car appeal.

Cargo Room and Flexibility

Like the conventional gasoline-powered Blazer, the Blazer EV comes up a little short if cargo space is a top priority. Behind the 60/40-split folding rear seatback is 25.5 cubic feet of volume. That’s about five cubic feet down from the gas-fed Blazer and roughly four cubic feet less than you’ll find in the trunk of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Blazer EV has a respectable 59.1 cubic feet of cargo-toting space with the rear seat folded.
