Kia Teases (Well, Mostly Reveals) 2027 Telluride

  • Kia released a photo of its upcoming 2027 Telluride wrapped in camouflage that doesn’t hide much
  • A huge sales success for Kia, the Telluride will get its first complete redesign for the 2027 model year

The 2027 Kia Telluride will get a boxy redesign with a wide grille bracketed by amber daytime running lights. We can tell, even through the “camouflage.”

Automakers play a coy game with upcoming models. They regularly release photos that reveal a few details of a new design but keep most of it in shadow. Kia is as good at it as any of them. In late October, it played the game with a shadowed teaser photo and an announcement that an all-new Telluride is coming soon.

The company will skip the 2026 model year, releasing the new car as perhaps the first 2027 model to reach dealerships.

But the company has apparently decided to ditch the games with its all-new 3-row midsize SUV. It released a pair of photos of the entire car, wrapped in a tongue-in-cheek “camouflage” that consists of sketches of Tellurides.

The tease shows that Kia won’t radically rethink the Telluride for its second generation. It’s the sort of boxy, rugged-looking SUV design popular with automakers in recent years. Video footage showed the vehicle on an off-road course, which may suggest that Kia will release a rugged off-road trim and lean into an outdoorsy image with the new model.

We’ll bring more soon — Kia plans to reveal the uncovered version at the Los Angeles Auto Show in two weeks.
