Kia Recalls Telluride Over Defect in Power Front Seats

A white 2025 Kia Telluride from a front quarter angle view.

Kia has recalled 85,448 Telluride SUVs from model year 2025 due to a defect in the power front seats that may increase the risk of injury in a crash.

The company informs the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the vehicle’s supplier failed to properly manufacture the front power seat recliners. In a rear-end collision, these front seats may not effectively restrain occupants, potentially increasing the risk of injury.

Your front seat might have this issue if it feels loose or if you hear a grinding noise when you try to recline it.

Kia dealers will fix this issue by replacing the entire front seatback frame as necessary. They will complete this service at no cost to you, since recall repairs are free.

If you already paid for this repair, you may be eligible for reimbursement under Kia’s General Reimbursement Plan.

The company will notify owners with affected vehicles by mail, starting April 24, 2026.

Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone. To check whether your vehicle might be subject to a recall, use the easy tool at our recall center. All you need is your vehicle identification number (VIN), license plate, or year, make, and model of your car to get started.
