Kia is recalling 568 2027 Telluride Hybrid SX Prestige and X-Line SX Prestige vehicles due to a power second-row seat assembly issue. The recall applies only to 2027 Telluride Hybrid models with the optional Executive Package, manufactured from February 2, 2026, to March 13, 2026.
This recall comes on the heels of a stop-sale for some Hyundai Palisade models due to the same issue. In the case of the Palisade, one fatality was attributed to the power-folding seat.
The second-row seats feature automatic folding and one-touch tilt-and-slide for third row access. The issue is that the seats may not detect an obstruction and keep moving.
A remedy is still under development. For now, Kia advises customers to “ensure children are not in the rear seats or rear seating area during power-folding operation and avoid inadvertent pressing of the power second-row seat switches.”
Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone. To check whether your vehicle might be subject to a recall, use the easy tool at our recall center. All you need is your VIN, license plate, or year, make, and model of your car to get started.
