Kia Recalls K5 Over Detaching Trim

Kia has recalled 100,063 K5 sedans from model years 2023-2025 because exterior trim pieces behind the rear windows can fall off and become a road hazard.

Car designers letter the pillars holding a car’s roof from front to back. The company tells federal safety officials that trim on the C-pillar (the pillar behind the rear door) can loosen “due to a supplier quality issue.”

Dealers will replace the trim to fix the issue. By law, they never charge for recall repairs.

Millions of people miss recall notices every year and unknowingly drive recalled vehicles. Our recall center has an easy VIN tool to help you find out if your car needs any free safety repairs.
