While unveiling its new 2015 Soul EV and 2014 Optima Hybrid models were the prime focus of Kia‘s eco-centric festivities in Chicago, the automaker also gave show attendees a chance to check out a third green-tinged vehicle, the cool Kia Niro Concept.

Revealed in Frankfurt last fall, this edgy design exercise shows the automaker’s thinking on a possible B-segment crossover SUV aimed at young, urban-dwelling active lifestylers in Europe. However, with its aggressive styling, premium tech touches and sophisticated gas-electric all-wheel drive hybrid powertrain, it’s not hard to imagine the Niro could find favor with like-minded individuals on this side of the Atlantic, as well. For a complete rundown on this Soul-sized city slicker, check out our original coverage.
