Following up on earlier news that it would add support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps to its 2017 Sportage SUV and 2016 Optima sedan, the automaker has now announced additional compatibility for several other 2014-2017 models in the Kia family. The expanded list of eligible vehicles will now include the 2017 Forte, 2015-2016 Optima/Optima Hybrid, 2015-2016 Sedona minivan, 2014-2016 Soul and 2015-2016 Soul EV as well as the 2016 Sorento. Models must be equipped with a compatible navigation system or UVO3 telematics to download and install the free software updates to bring Android Auto or Apple CarPlay on board for use with a suitable smartphone.
