Jeep has recalled 7,198 Grand Cherokee L SUVs from model year 2024 because their speedometers may not accurately display the current speed.
The company tells federal safety officials that the vehicles may have “a delay in the speedometer displaying the correct vehicle speed.”
The problem is software, Jeep says, so dealers will fix it with a software update. Software updates are often quick service appointments. But these vehicles can’t download new software over the air, so owners must bring them in for service to have the patch installed.
