Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling 2,278 Jaguar I-Pace electric SUVs from the 2020 and 2021 model years due to the risk of a faulty high-voltage battery pack.
The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “vehicles have experienced a thermal overload, which may show as smoke or fire, that may occur in the high voltage traction battery pack.”
This issue may cause a short circuit of the battery, which can ignite a fire and potentially cause personal or property injury.
JLR is not aware of any warranty claims, accidents, or injuries related to this recall.
Dealers will install software that limits charging to 90% while they continue to identify a permanent solution. This service is free of charge, as recall repairs always are.
Owners with affected vehicles will be notified beginning in April 2026. Drivers who use the Jaguar Remote App can monitor their vehicles’ charging.
Based on similar battery-pack issues reported by other manufacturers, JLR recommends that owners park away from structures and charge their vehicles outside.
Millions of cars face recalls. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they may not reach everyone. Discover whether your vehicle has any outstanding recalls by checking the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
