Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling a total of six 2026 Land Rover Defender SUVs due to an improperly manufactured fuel tank.
According to JLR, the walls of the fuel tank are too thin, specifically near the check valve installation point, which may fail in a crash, increasing the risk of a fire.
Jaguar will inspect and replace the fuel tanks in the affected models. The repairs will be free of charge to owners, as required by law.
Affected owners will be notified by mail beginning June 19, 2026.
Carmakers recall many vehicles to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to notify every owner, they rarely reach all of them. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
