Jaguar F-TYPE – 2012 New York Auto Show

Following the crowd-pleasing introduction of the C-X16 concept during the 2011 Frankfurt auto show, Jaguar decided to advance the development of its new roadster, which has officially been designated as the F-TYPE. While the F-TYPE is slated for a mid-2013 retail launch, the production model will show its skin later this year accompanied by additional technical details and pricing.

As the fourth member of the Jaguar family of cars, this two-seat convertible will benefit from the brand’s new generation of power plants, which Jaguar claims will hustle the F-TYPE to 60 in under five seconds and grant a top speed of 180 mph.

“Its development is a vivid representation of the confidence and ambition of the Jaguar brand, and the desire amongst our engineers and design team to produce a world-leader in a market segment that we have been absent from for too long. But no longer – the F-TYPE is coming,” said Jaguar’s Global Brand Director, Adrian Hallmark.
