Nearly every automaker has introduced at least one electric car in 2023, but Nissan’s Infiniti luxury brand has kept its electric vehicle (EV) plans quiet until now.
The company today teased what it calls “a sleek concept that previews its first all-electric model.”
The Infiniti Vision Qe won’t be a production car. It’s a concept car — a design study meant to show what a future vehicle could look like. Some concept cars become production cars reasonably quickly. Others remain museum pieces forever.
So, we can’t be sure the Vision Qe is a lightly disguised production car, but recent signals hint that it may be. Infiniti has been plotting a makeover, redesigning its logo, upgrading dealerships, and hinting at a new design language for the EV era all year.
The company rolled out another concept — the QX Monograph — that looked like a production-ready replacement for the QX80 not long ago.
If that car showed Infiniti’s design language for future EVs, the Vision Qe may reveal its sedan and coupe blueprint.
The company recently released a dark teaser photo showing a particularly rounded fastback greenhouse. But the accompanying language says Infiniti “will announce several stunning new models on Oct. 24, providing a glimpse into its future model range.”
So we won’t have to wait long to know more. We’ll bring details that day.
