When we first/last encountered Infiniti‘s advanced sports car concept that was being prepped for a Geneva reveal, official knowledge of this radically styled range-extended one-off was confined to a pair of detail images. While the automaker has yet to share any further mechanical or powertrain specifics, it has released a new profile sketch of the vehicle and confirmed that it will be called the Infiniti EMERG-E Concept. Beyond that Infiniti will only say that the EMERG-E Concept will be "the first car from the brand to have not only a range-extender drivetrain offering vivid performance with zero emissions capability but also one mounted in a mid-ship package for optimal handling." If previous comments made by Andy Palmer, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and Infiniti, hold true, the EMREG-E also will offer an early look at both a new strain of efficient powertrain technology and a possible styling direction that could be adapted for the next generation of Infiniti production vehicles.
