Hyundai Palisade Recalled Over Seat Belt Issue

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid front 3 qtr

Hyundai is recalling 46,787 vehicles due to a potentially defective third-row driver-side seatbelt. Affected models are as follows:

In a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Hyundai says, “The internal wiring within the 3rd-row left-hand driver’s side seat belt buckles may become damaged due to excessive tension applied when the buckle is pulled.” The issue affects Palisade models in the higher Limited and Calligraphy trims.

According to the report, this issue may “prevent detection of the seat belt latch status.” If the seat belt is not properly secured, it could increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Hyundai is not aware of any warranty claims, accidents, or injuries related to this recall. Hyundai dealers will inspect affected vehicles and, if needed, will install a wiring harness extension or completely replace the seat belt assembly.

This service is free of charge, as recall repairs always are. Owners with affected vehicles will be notified beginning May 18, 2026.
