Hyundai, Genesis Issue Airbag Recall

Hyundai and its Genesis luxury arm have recalled 273 vehicles because their side curtain airbags may not deploy properly in the event of an accident.

Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:

The company tells federal safety officials that the airbags may have been installed incorrectly at the factory, which could “result in abnormal airbag deployment during a crash, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.”

Dealers will inspect the airbags and reinstall them if necessary.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
