Honda has recalled 388 CR-V e:FCEV SUVs from model year 2025 because a coolant leak can short-circuit their fuel cells, leaving them without drive power.
The CR-V e:FCEV is one of the tiny number of hydrogen fuel-cell powered cars available in the U.S., primarily concentrated in Southern California.
Honda tells federal safety regulators that coolant can leak into its fuel cells, triggering a short circuit. That could leave the car unable to move.
Owners might see multiple warnings as the problem develops, including: Power System, FC insulating fluid low. See your dealer, Power may be reduced. See your dealer, and Do not drive, or Stop driving when safe.
Dealers will replace the fuel cell stack assembly to fix the problem.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
