Honda Launches App for TrailSport Models

Yesterday marked the official launch of the Honda Trail Experience (HTX) app — a free tool to help some Honda owners navigate the trail and share videos of their off-road drives. It works only with a iPhone.

The app works with the 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport, 2026 Pilot TrailSport, and 2026 CR-V TrailSport, which are off-road-focused trims of Honda SUVs.

Honda engineers built it in collaboration with TrailSport owners and off-road enthusiasts.

The app provides real-time vehicle data and advanced video capabilities to “improve driver confidence, safety, and overall enjoyment during off-road excursions,” Honda said in a release. Users can download the app for free from the Apple App Store.

The app lets the vehicle send data on elevation, pitch, roll, brake pressure, throttle position, speed, engine temperature, outside temperature, tire angle, latitude, and longitude to the driver’s phone. It displays six of these (driver’s choice) on the car’s touchscreen. Drivers can use this information to revisit their favorite routes along with interactive maps.

Drivers can create and share videos synced with trail data, including performance information and maps. HTX captures video and audio, and lets drivers share photos and videos with their social media followers and other TrailSport owners. Owners can mount their phone anywhere on the SUV or give it to a spectator within range.

The app is in continuous development, with an Android version set to roll out soon. Users can also share feedback in the app via the “Share Feedback” feature. Feedback goes directly to the Honda development team, who are continuously looking to enhance the off-road experience.
