Honda Expands Accessories Lineup, Teams With Thule

If you’re thinking that a bike carrier, cargo box, or even a roof-mounted awning might be the perfect complement to your Honda, good news: The automaker announced that it is launching Honda Partnered Accessories, starting with gear from Thule.

Honda says the new line of accessories will grow alongside its own Honda Genuine Accessories selection of dealer-installed products. Among the first items offered are a rooftop cargo box, a sweet-looking retractable awning that also mounts to a vehicle’s roof, and a hitch-mounted bicycle carrier. Thule, known for its popular recreation gear, including myriad automotive accessories, makes the products.

Honda says the initiative to offer such third-party accessories for its cars “adds a scalable accessory ecosystem alongside Honda Genuine Accessories, created to grow and adapt as customer needs and vehicle trends evolve.”

Why Buy From a Honda Dealer?

Of course, drivers of Honda vehicles and those of other brands can buy such aftermarket products and install them on their own. But there are benefits to purchasing them at a dealership, perhaps even along with your shiny new car or as part of an upgrade for an existing one.

First and foremost, you don’t have to install the gear yourself, and you can rest assured it will be done right. If you’ve ever spent a weekend listening to your spouse curse while attempting such a project, you already know this is priceless.

Secondly, by buying such parts at a dealership, you’ll know they will work with your exact model and won’t jeopardize its warranty.

“By purchasing Honda Partnered Accessories through Honda dealers, customers benefit from expert guidance, proper fitment, and professional installation — for both new automobiles and Honda vehicles in operation — creating a more convenient and trusted experience,” Honda says.

As overlanding, road-tripping, and automotive-led adventures only gain popularity, we think it’s a smart move for Honda to team with brands like Thule – and have professional installation be part of the deal.
