Ford Fusion Goes Mean and Green

By KBB.com Editors on January 14, 2008 2:47 PM
Ford's popular Fusion sedan is going green, but in two different directions. Setting the land speed record for a production-based fuel cell vehicle, the hydrogen-powered Fusion Hydrogen 999 reached a top speed of 207 miles per hour while emitting nothing more than water from its tail pipe. For those needing more luggage space, a hybrid version of the Fusion is scheduled to arrive at dealers in 2008 as a 2009 model. The car will likely feature the same gas-electric hybrid powertrain that powers the automaker's Escape Hybrid compact SUV. Look for cousin Mercury Milan to get the same treatment.
