Ford Recalls Transit Vans Over Brake Issue

2025 White Ford Transit Right 3 qtr

Ford is recalling 15,965 vehicles that may be missing a component in the brake pedal assembly. The following vehicle is affected:

The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “the brake booster assembly may have been assembled without a cotter pin.”

This can affect the ability to brake properly, potentially leading to a crash. Ford says it is aware of three warranty reports related to this recall. It is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to it.

Ford is advising owners of 2025 Transit vans not to drive their vehicles until it can be determined whether the brake assembly is faulty.

Ford dealers will inspect and repair the brake booster as necessary. Owners of affected vehicles are being notified beginning this week. Also, a warning message should be displayed to the driver on the vehicle’s information system. Drivers who get a warning light on their dashboard should contact their local dealer immediately.

Millions of vehicles are recalled. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they may not reach everyone. Discover whether your vehicle has any outstanding recalls by checking the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
