Ford Recalls Transit Vans Again Over Missing Warnings

2024 Ford Transit Van

Ford has issued another recall for 3,506 Transit vans from model years 2022-2023 because their driver’s instrument clusters may not display needed warnings.

The company recalled more than 30,000 Transit models to fix the same issue in 2023. Ford fixed the problem, for most, with a software update.

But Ford has since learned that a system dealers used to update software could sometimes report a successful installation even when it failed. Dealers returned some vans to their owners, believing they’d been fixed when they likely hadn’t.

Ford says it can now determine which vehicles had failed installations. Dealers have a new update process that lets them verify success before considering a recall finished. So, the company will ask owners to bring the vans back. Dealers will install the update a second time.

Recall repairs are always free.
