Ford Recalls Super Duty Trucks Over Rearview Camera Problem

Ford has recalled 291,901 heavy duty trucks because their rearview cameras may not display a usable image in some conditions. All of the recalled trucks are equipped with the optional 360-degree camera view system.

Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:

Ford tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that, “When one or more cameras are exposed to significantly different light than other cameras, the system’s automatic exposure compensation, which attempts to balance the overall scene, may cause the camera(s) image to appear severely underexposed or overexposed.”

Dealers will update the image processing software to fix the problem.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
