Ford Recalls Pickups Over Blank Instrument Displays

Ford has recalled 355,656 full-size and heavy-duty trucks because their instrument panels can go blank at startup.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a software problem can cause the trucks’ instrument panels to go dark at startup.

Dealers will fix it with a software update.

Ford has a growing recall problem. As of this week, the company has issued 109 recalls this year — well above the previous record of 77 in a single year.
