Ford Recalls Mustang Mach-E Over Lighting Failure

Ford has issued a recall for 45,047 Mustang Mach-E SUVs from model years 2025-2026 because much of their exterior lighting can go dark at once without warning.

The company tells federal safety officials that a software problem can disrupt the module that controls the high beam headlights, low beam headlights, position lights, daytime running lights, and turn signals. Rear lights are not affected.

The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.

Dealers will update the software to fix the issue. Software updates are among the quickest service appointments.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
