Ford Recalls Maverick Trucks Over Turn Signal Problem

The 2025 Ford Maverick seen from a front quarter angle

Ford has recalled 1,635 Maverick pickups from model years 2022-2024 because the trucks won’t warn drivers if their rear turn signals stop working.

This is the second recall over this issue for these trucks. The first time around, Ford says, some trucks were marked as repaired in Ford’s system but not actually repaired.

Like most vehicles, the Maverick is designed to trigger a change in the turn signal sound if a signal bulb is dead. Ford says that on these trucks, each tail lamp has two indicator bulbs, and that change in tone never comes if only one is out because of unremedied software.

Dealers can fix this with a simple software update. Mavericks don’t receive updates over the air, so owners must bring them in to have the software downloaded.

Recall repairs are always free.

Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car needs any critical safety repairs at our recall center.
