Ford Recalls Econoline to Fix Defrosters

Ford recalled 6,909 Econoline vans from model year 2026 because a blower motor can fail, leaving them without a defroster. That could create visibility problems.

The company tells federal safety officials that a supplier provided some blower motors that don’t align properly in their housings. That lets them heat up, where parts can melt, leaving the fan useless.

Drivers might notice an unusual noise or inconsistent cabin temperature as the problem develops.

Dealers will replace the blower motor to fix the problem.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
