Ford Recalls Bronco, Ranger Over Front Seat Bolt

2026 Ford Bronco in Oxford White

Ford is recalling 179,698 vehicles due to a front seat bolt that can become detached. The following vehicles are affected:

The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “the seat frame height adjustment pivot bolts may come out of the pivot joint.”

Over time, the bolt can become dislodged. If this happens, it can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

The company reports 60 warranty claims but no accidents or injuries resulting from this issue.

According to Ford, if you hear your seat squeak or creak, or if it feels looser than normal, you may have a defective bolt.

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat cushion height-adjust link and pivot bolts. As with all recalls, there is no charge for this service.

Owners will be notified beginning May 11, 2026.

While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they may not reach everyone. Discover whether your vehicle has any outstanding recalls by checking the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
