Ford has recalled 11,745 F-250F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks from the 2025 model year because their steering column shifters may come off in the driver’s hands. “If the shifter mechanism detaches while the vehicle is not in park, the driver will be unable to engage park. In this case, the vehicle may roll if the parking brake is not manually applied, increasing the risk of a crash,” the company says.

Ford tells federal safety officials that factory workers assembled the steering column with “misaligned welds attaching the shifter mechanism.”

Dealers will replace the entire steering column to fix the problem.
