Ford, Lincoln Recall SUVs Over Blank Instrument Clusters

Ford and its Lincoln luxury division have issued a recall for 298 SUVs because their driver’s instrument screens may go dark, leaving drivers without critical warnings and unable to see their speed.

The company tells federal safety officials that some circuit board components were left uncovered during assembly. They can short-circuit, leading to a black screen.

Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster to fix the problem.
