Ford, Lincoln Recall 57K Over Air Bubbles in Windshields

Ford and its Lincoln luxury marque recalled 56,841 SUVs because air bubbles in their windshield glass may obscure the driver’s vision.

The company tells federal safety regulators that a supplier provided some windshields with air bubbles trapped in a laminate layer. “The condition may result in visibility impairment for the driver, increasing the risk of a crash,” Ford explains.

The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.

Dealers will inspect the windshields and replace them if necessary to fix the problem.
