- Ford’s new F-150 Lobo is a street truck version of its most popular truck
- It’s lowered, with a V8 engine and new styling
- The Lobo starts at $59,995, including delivery fee
Ford today launched a new package for its best-selling F-150 pickup. The 2025 F-150 Lobo is a street truck — a lowered, high-power pickup meant more for the pavement than the dirt. It starts at $59,995, including a delivery fee.
The full-size street truck is Ford’s second Lobo model. The company launched a Lobo version of its Maverick compact truck in August.
Somewhat confusingly, Ford has sold the F-150 under the name “Lobo” in Mexico since the late 1990s.
Based on the STX, in SuperCrew Only
- The Lobo uses the affordable STX trim, but adds a V8 and some appearance upgrades
Ford sells the Lobo as a package, not a trim level — a fact that will make little difference to shoppers but controls how dealers order it.
It’s based on the relatively affordable STX trim level, but replaces that model’s V6 engine with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that puts out 400 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. It also gets an upgraded 2-speed automatic 4-wheel-drive (4WD) system.
A street truck is about attitude as much as performance.
Ford says the Lobo is “already lower than a base F-150 with an updated suspension that drops the rear of the truck 2 inches,” but also gets “a 10-piece ground appearance package that visually lowers the truck even more.”
A Lobo-specific grille has an integrated light bar. It sits beneath a Lobo-specific cowl hood.
“To best capture today’s popular street styling, we added black-accented exterior features such as hood vents, exhaust, and badging, not to mention unique Lobo 22-inch gloss-black wheels,” Ford says.
The F-150 Lobo is available in five colors: Agate Black Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White, and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. Ford is already accepting orders for the model.
