Ford Issues Do Not Drive Warning, Recall for Some Super Duty Trucks

Ford has issued a recall and a do not drive warning for 2,345 Super Duty trucks because they can suddenly lose brake function.

Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:

The company tells federal safety officials that some trucks may have been built without a spring that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal. Without the spring, parts of the brake pedal mechanism can come apart.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem, which was discovered by a factory tester.

Dealers will arrange to tow the trucks in for repair, inspect the brake pedal mechanism, and repair it if necessary.
