Ford SYNC Receives First Round of Upgrades

By Editors on April 21, 2009 9:20 AM
Not six months after its Fall 2007 introduction, Ford has already expanded the functionality of our favorite digital media player/cell phone-integration system. Using the driver's connected cell phone, SYNC's new 911 Assist feature will automatically call emergency services when the system detects an air bag deployment. Also, owners can now request a Vehicle Health Report that can then be viewed online. Ford will offer the voice-controlled SYNC platform on "nearly all" Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles by the end of 2008, and current SYNC owners can upgrade their systems with the new functionality.
