Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will reduce the terms of its limited powertrain warranty for the 2016 model year. While still in effect for 5 years, the maximum mileage is being cut from 100,000 to 60,000. The move follows a similar decision in March by General Motors to do exactly the same thing for most of the vehicles in its lineup. Stating this adjustment is being made to keep it "more consistent with industry practices," FCA noted the changes will affect all Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Truck vehicles fitted with gasoline engines. The basic "bumper to bumper," coverage will remain at 3 years/36,000 miles.
