Ferrari Parade at Silverstone sets new Guinness Book record

This past weekend marked the biggest single gathering of Ferrari vehicles the planet has ever seen. No fewer than 964 representatives of the legendary Italian marque drove a formation lap around the equally famed British motorsport circuit to celebrate Ferrari Racing Days and roll into the Guinness Book of World Records for the third time in the past six years.

This benchmark-setting 2012 event was led by Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa who was behind the wheel of a new 458 Spider. The field of dream cars was so deep that the 3-abreast formation of Ferrari’s literally spanned Silverstone’s entire 3.66-mile track surface and handily eclipsed the existing Ferrari Parade record of 490 cars that came together in 2008 at the Suzuka racing circuit in Japan. That number topped the original Guinness Ferrari Parade mark of 385 cars, which also took place at Silverstone back in 2007.
