Dodge recalled 298,439 Dart sedans from model years 2013 through 2016 because they could roll away when parked. For many of the cars, this will be the second recall to fix a recurring problem.
Dodge recalled these vehicles in 2019 to replace a bushing on the end of the shifter cable. However, the company says, it now knows of at least 34 cases where the repair has failed.
So engineers are developing a new solution. Dodge hasn’t explained what the second fix will be, but it will be free when it comes.
