Dodge, Ram Recall 211,000 Over Stability Control

Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge and Ram, has recalled 211,851 vehicles because their antilock braking systems (ABS) can turn off their stability control (ESC) systems.

The company tells federal safety officials at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a malfunction in the ABS can cause the ESC to shut down. Without stability control active, a vehicle may behave abnormally during any loss of traction, which could contribute to an accident.

Dealers will fix the problem with a software update. By law, recall repairs are always free.
