Dodge’s 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is a drag-oriented street-legal musclecar that adds more now that it’s approved by the NHRA for competition. The sanctioning body said the car is legal in NHRA Stock and Super Stock Sportsman classes for the 2019 season.
The 1320, named after the distance in a quarter mile (1,320 feet), the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is powered by a 485-horsepower, 6.4-liter V-8, with a quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds at 115 mph. The Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is the fastest naturally aspirated, street-legal muscle car available. The package also trims three-tenths off the 0-60 mph time, bringing it down to 3.8 seconds.
Angry Bee
In related Challenger news, Dodge announced a new “Angry Bee” interpretation of the vintage Dodge Super Bee logo. Angry Bee logos are on the vehicle’s front fenders, instrument panel, headlights, on the startup splash screen in the instrument gauge cluster, and on the key fob. The street-to-strip muscle car is beginning to arrive in FCA US dealerships.

Ready for the Strip
To get the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 approved for the drag strip, Dodge//SRT engineers added drag-specific components and technologies, including, a TorqueFlite 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission; the TransBrake, which holds the car stationary before a standing start; Torque Reserve, which manages fuel flow to cylinders and controls spark advance; street-legal drag radial tires; and SRT 3-mode Adaptive Damping Suspension (ADS), retuned specifically for the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320.
The car also has Drag Mode that optimizes weight transfer for the best traction at launch. Other track-friendly features include upgraded rear half shafts from the Demon, performance-tuned asymmetrical limited-slip, and traction-optimizers like Line Lock, Launch Assist, and Launch Control. The car rides on 20-inch wheels with 4-piston Brembo high-performance brakes behind. The interior has only the driver’s seat, reducing weight by about 114 pounds. For $1 each, you can add a front passenger and rear seat.

Adding the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 package costs $3,995 above the MSRP of $38,995 for the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack, plus $1,595 for the mandatory automatic transmission upgrade and the $1,495 destination charge, for a total of $46,080.
