Chrysler Debuts Next-Gen Uconnect

Chrysler kicks of the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show by unveiling the next generation of its Uconnect infotainment system. This fourth-generation system will feature the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a new Uconnect Theater rear entertainment system.

Uconnect Theater allows passengers to watch movies, play built-in games and connect personal devices to surf the Internet. To quickly navigate through options passengers can swipe through the touchscreens or use the included Bluetooth touchpad remote control.

The system includes two high-definition 10-inch touchscreens on the back of the front headrests with individual content displayed on each screen. There are embedded apps and games in the system including family favorites like checkers, bingo and tic tac toe. An “Are We There, Yet?” app tracks the progress of the trip.

The system supports a myriad of personal devices including smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, Apple TV, Blu-ray/DVD, CD, gaming devices, e-readers, SUB drives, laptops and digital cameras. In addition to the touchpad remote, the setup includes two sets of wireless headphones, USB and HDMI ports.

Chrysler will showcase its new Pacifica Hybrid minivan by featuring the vehicle’s Uconnect Access app, which allows owners to remotely check the vehicle’s state of battery charger, vehicle range and time to full recharge. They can also set charging schedules and receive charge status updates and locations of charging stations.
