Chevrolet Recalls Blazer EV Over Parking Brake Problem

Chevrolet has recalled 40,233 examples of the Blazer EV from model year 2025 because their parking brakes can engage unexpectedly or stop working altogether.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a wiring harness powering the rear parking brake can flex and bend, causing it to short or break.

Owners may see a “service parking brake” warning as the problem develops, but it can also appear without warning.

Dealers will inspect the wiring harness on recalled vehicles. If technicians find damage, they will replace it. They will install anti-friction tape to stabilize the wiring harness if they find no damage.

As with all recalls, the repair is free.
