Chevrolet is recalling 20 Blazer EVs due to them having an incorrect chassis harnesses. Non-EV Blazer models are not affected by this recall.
A defect exists in certain 2024-2025 Chevrolet Blazer EVs that can cause the rear parking brake to become damaged or corroded. This can result in unintended actuation of the parking brake or loss of parking brake function. If the parking brake actuates while driving, the risk of a crash increases. If the parking brake fails, the vehicle can roll away while unattended.
This defect is due to an error in GM’s parts catalogue that caused dealers to order an incorrect part to remedy wire harness replacement for a previous recall. An incorrect wire harness replacement does not sufficiently prevent wire flexing and can cause shorting or breakage of the parking brake wires.
Drivers may receive a “service parking brake” warning. In some cases, the vehicle may not shift out of park.
Dealers will replace the chassis harness free of charge.
