Chevrolet Launches Limited-Edition Quail Silver Corvette ZR1X

  • Chevrolet will launch a limited-edition Corvette based on a classic 1950s color scheme
  • It will be offered only on the top-of-the-line ZR1X, a 1,250-hp exotic car hunter

The most exclusive Corvette on earth in 2026 will take inspiration from one of the loveliest classic Corvettes.

The company today announced the limited-run 2026 Corvette ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition.

There’s a lot to unpack in that short phrase.

First, the mechanical bits – the Corvette ZR1X is the new apex predator Corvette. It combines an LT7 twin-turbo V8 engine powering the rear axle with a front axle electric motor for a yes-you-read-that-right total of 1,250 horsepower. Chevrolet claims a zero-to-60 mph time of “under 2 seconds.”

The ZR1X recently set an American lap record at Germany’s famous Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, arguably making it the fastest American production car ever.

The Quail Silver edition salutes a classic color last seen on the first-generation Corvette in 1959. Chevrolet called it Inca Silver then. The 2026 version will go by the name Blade Silver Matte, but it’s close to the nearly bare-metal look of the classic Corvette in your imagination.

Phil Zak, executive design director of Global Chevrolet, notes that it is “the first factory matte paint in 60 years” on a Corvette. Orange-painted brake calipers, black exhaust tips, and carbon flash painted mirrors complete the look.

Chevrolet will offer it only as the Corvette ZR1X 3LZ convertible. A Chevrolet spokesperson says the company will produce “less than 100.”

The interior comes in Sky Cool & Medium Ash Gray with Habanero accents, a new color scheme available on all 2026 Corvette models.

It will make its first appearance during Monterey Car Week at The Quail, an event dedicated to showing off classic and updated supercars

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Pricing

Chevy used the Quail Silver announcement to reveal pricing for the ZR1X as well.

Playfully, they sent out a chart comparing it to two vehicles with slower sprints to 60 mph and prices at least 10 times as high. We’ll reprint it here, but note that Chevrolet also charges a $1,895 destination charge on the 2025 Corvettes on dealer lots today.

Assuming that doesn’t change for 2026, the ZR1X’s final price will be at least $209,290 delivered.
