Chevrolet Cruze Wagon set for Geneva Show debut

Chevrolet Cruze Wagon

Chevrolet‘s most popular model line is preparing to expand with the addition of an even more practical variant, at least for some world markets. Ready for a full reveal in Geneva and on sale this summer in Europe, the new Cruze station wagon rides on the same platform as its coupe and sedan siblings but is slightly longer overall and offers considerably more toting capability with its rear seat up or folded.

The new Cruze wagon will be available no fewer than five engine choices, bolstering the current 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter gasoline engines with a new 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and 1.7-liter turbodiesel as well as an improved 2.0-liter turbodiesel. All three of the turbocharged engines will be fitted with GM’s economy-enhancing stop/start technology.

"The Cruze station wagon caters to an important market segment. It ticks all the boxes for European drivers in terms of distinctive design, dynamic driving, space and economy," said Chevrolet Europe President and Managing Director Susan Docherty. Apparently, that ardor is not quite as evident here in America, as there are currently no plans to bring the new Chevrolet Cruze station wagon to this country or to Canada.
