Reeves Callaway has a long and impressive history of modifying Corvettes to suit the desires of those seeking something beyond what the factory is offering. With the recent introduction of the new seventh-generation 2014 model, it’s no surprise to see the gang at Callaway Cars has decided to test potential buyer interest in a new variation based on the "C7" theme, as well. This time, it takes the form of a Callaway AeroWagon body kit that transforms the 2014 Chevy Corvette coupe into a handsome "shooting brake" via a carbon fiber body kit.

Like existing Callaway-made body parts, this custom element was penned by designer Paul Deutschman and would be created using the firm’s proprietary RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) process. Callaway indicates that in addition to adding a distinctive twist to the C7’s profile and creating an even larger and more flexible cargo area, the revamped liftback also retains all of the production-spec seals and hatch hardware. If a sufficient number of 2014 Corvette owners find the look to their liking, the AeroWagon option will be made available this fall through Callaway dealers across the country, the timing to coincide with the arrival of the new 2014 Corvette. The anticipated starting price will be below $15,000, and the firm also is considering offering additional interior upgrades to go along with the AeroWagon kit, although nothing has been finalized.
No word yet on what Callaway has planned when it comes to powertrain enhancement on the C7’s 450-horse 6.2-liter LS1 V8, but the AeroWagon press release did note its projected top speed is in excess of 200 mph. If so, it implies we can anticipate that the engine would be treated to a typical Callaway massage and likely gain some form of output-boosting force-feeding system in the process. Stay tuned.
