Cadillac Opens Orders for 2024 Lyriq

2023 Cadillac LyriqIf you have your eye on a Cadillac Lyriq, move fast. Cadillac has opened orders for the 2024 edition of its first electric vehicle. But the last two times the brand offered the Lyriq for sale, the order books filled with astonishing speed.

About the Lyriq

The Lyriq is an all-electric 2-row midsize SUV with a design theme of sharp angles outside and smooth piano-black trim inside. It offers a driving range of over 300 miles and exceptional cabin space. The Lyriq starts at “around $60,000,” Cadillac says, and requires just $100 to pre-order.

When the Lyriq was first announced, Cadillac took orders for a special Debut Edition in rear-wheel drive (RWD) with a 340-horsepower drivetrain, 19-speaker audio system, and added noise cancelation features. That one sold out in about 10 minutes.

Later, the company opened orders for other trim levels of the 2023 Lyriq. They included a 500-horsepower, all-wheel-drive (AWD) model. That time, buyers snapped them up in about four hours.

2024 Gets a HUD Option

Cadillac hasn’t said how many Lyriqs it will build for the 2024 model year, so we have no way of predicting how long buyers have to make their move this time. The reservation page is active this morning and notes that deliveries are expected in the spring of 2023.

For buyers who were too late to order a 2023 model, Cadillac offered them a spot on a waitlist and will now sell them a 2024 version.

The 2024 model is virtually identical to the 2023 edition, but buyers now have the option of a head-up display that Cadillac didn’t offer last year.
