High Performance Car

Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing Limited to 250 Examples, On Sale in February

Cadillac’s high-performance Blackwing models are nearly here. But, if you want one, you’ll need to line up quickly. There won’t be many made.

Cadillac has announced that it will begin taking orders for the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing models in just 10 days, on February 1. But the division will sell only 250 of each. A $1,000 refundable deposit will save your spot for one.

The Blackwing editions will be high-performance variants of standard Cadillac sedans. The CT4-V Blackwing, for instance, will be a small CT4  sedan with a more powerful engine, aggressively-tuned suspension, and other performance enhancements.

The company has been keeping much about the two cars secret. Less than two weeks before they go on sale, we’ve seen only camouflaged photos. Detailed specifications are yet to come, but we believe the CT4-V Blackwing will carry a twin-turbo V6, with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The CT5-V Blackwing, based on the larger CT5 sedan, will most likely employ a supercharged V8, with the same transmissions.

Buyers will also receive two days of performance driving instruction at Cadillac’s V-Series Academy at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada (transportation and lodging not included).

Price remains as unknown as the specifications. We’ll bring you that information as soon as we have it.
