BMW recalled just three copies of its 2026 M4 and one 430i because their battery cables may be improperly connected. A partially connected battery cable can cause an engine to stall. It can also heat up and create a fire risk.

The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem, which was discovered during a factory inspection.

Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting the cables between the battery and the power distribution box and replacing any defective parts. Recall repairs are always free.

Millions of people miss recall notices every year and unknowingly drive recalled vehicles. Our recall center has an easy VIN tool to help you find out if your car needs any free safety repairs.
