Audi will launch a hefty tech refresh for its A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron lineups for model year 2027. The company says that many of these features are aimed at improving the overall driver experience, whether through driving dynamics or more intuitive technology. Here’s a quick overview.

  • Physical buttons return to the steering wheel
  • Improved regenerative one-pedal braking mode
  • Power Nap Mode for relaxing during charging sessions
  • New available 4K built-in dashcam
  • Multi-Media Interface (MMI) technology and design updates
  • Updated voice-control capabilities
  • 3-year/30,000-mile Audi Signature Care scheduled maintenance

Let’s take a closer look at some of these features.

Physical Buttons Return

One of the biggest wins for Audi drivers may be the return of more physical controls. It seems Audi has considered prior criticisms that previous models relied too heavily on touch-sensitive sliders. For 2027, the A6 and Q6 e-tron add physical buttons on the steering wheel again, including a scroll wheel that replaces the touch-sensitive interface for functions like volume and menu navigation.

Improved Regenerative Breaking

Audi says its regenerative braking has been improved with an upgraded one-pedal-driving mode. Regen braking can be tricky for new EV drivers since it may feel abrupt or lurchy at first. Audi says this update will make deceleration even smoother and closer to the gradual feel of braking in a gas-powered car.

Power Nap Mode

Yes—you read that right. Power Nap Mode is designed to create a comfortable environment for relaxing while charging your vehicle. Each “experience world,” as Audi calls it, uses interior lighting, sound, and massage functions to set a relaxing atmosphere. These scenarios last about 10-20 minutes and include Activating, Relaxing, and Harmonizing options.

Optional Built-In 4K Dashcam

The A6 and Q6 e-tron lineups will offer an available high-resolution 4K dashcam to capture clear videos of any action in front of your vehicle. Recordings will save 30 seconds before and after an incident, and can be accessed through an app within the infotainment system.

Updated User Interface

The updated A6 and Q6 e-tron models will feature a refreshed interface with updated graphics and design, displayed on the infotainment and cluster screens. The goal is to reduce long lists and emphasize graphics instead, which are easier for a driver to scan at a glance while driving.
