The long-rumored return of the Lagonda name has now been confirmed by Aston Martin. It will be found on a new ultra-luxury 4-door that will be marketed exclusively in the Middle East. Based on the automaker’s existing VH platform architecture and featuring many of the same technologies found in current Aston Martin vehicles, this new-gen Lagonda will feature styling cues from the William Towns-designed model that went on sale in 1976. While details are still limited, Aston says each Lagonda will be hand built at the company’s main factory in Gaydon, Warwickshire in a dedicated facility that previously produced its One-77 supercar.

"The new model, like its exclusive siblings the One-77 and V12 Zagato, has been created as a piece of exceptional automotive art. It has been designed and developed entirely in keeping with the spirit and ethos of previous Lagonda super saloons – notably the William Towns Lagonda – and as a tribute to this car it proudly bears the Lagonda nameplate," said Marek Reichman, Aston’s design chief. Should you be wondering, the price for the new Aston Martin Lagonda will according to the factory "be commensurate with the car’s exclusivity, quality and luxurious nature" and offered for sale on an invitation-only basis.
